Contest Rules and Prizes: IEEE Xplore^® Challenge for Researchers in India is open to all academic and research scholars who are residents of India and are at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry. The entrants with the highest quiz scores will be entered into a drawing to win one of several prizes. See the official rules and regulations below.

• The IEEE Xplore Challenge for Researchers in India is open to citizens of India only.
• Once registered, an entrant needs to submit the entire completed quiz by 31 December 2026.
• Limit of one entry per person.
• Individual entrants may only attempt one question at a time and answers cannot be modified once submitted.
• If an entrant is a user from an institution with a subscription or trial access to IEEE Xplore, the entrant should login through their respective institution’s IP address to gain access to full text articles.

IEEE Xplore Challenge for Researchers in India (the “Contest”).

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Incorporated, 445 Hoes Lane, Piscataway, New Jersey, USA, 08854 (“Sponsor”).

By participating in this Contest, Entrants agree to abide by the rules and regulations thereof as established by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to alter any of these Official Rules at any time and for any reason. All decisions made by Sponsor concerning the Contest including, but not limited to the cancellation of the Contest, shall be final and at its sole discretion.

IEEE Xplore Challenge for Researchers in India is open to all academic and research scholars who are residents of India and are at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry. Employees of Sponsor, its agents, affiliates and those in their immediate families (including spouses, parents, siblings and children, regardless of where they live) are not eligible to enter the Contest. Entrants may be subject to rules imposed by their institution or employer relative to their participation in contests and should check with their institution or employer for any relevant policies. If participation in this promotion is in violation of employer policies, the Entrant may be disqualified from entering or receiving prizes. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of winners.

This Contest commences on 1 October 2026 at 12:00 AM EST and ends on 31 December 2026 at 11:59 PM EST (“Entry Period”). Sponsor’s server is the official clock for the Contest. Entries received before or after the Entry Period are void.

Visit the Contest webpage at http://ieee-xplore-challenge.org/India/ and complete the entry form by (a) providing your full name and email address, (b) filling in the online questionnaire, and (c) submitting the completed entry by clicking the “Submit” button. No changes may be made to an entry once it has been submitted. All entries must be in English. Incomplete, illegible or garbled entries will be disqualified. Your submission must be fully completed and received by 31 December 2026 in order to be eligible for entry into the Contest. Entrants that are subscribers should login to IEEE Xplore through their institution’s IP address.

LIMIT ONE (1) ENTRY PER PERSON. Entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of the entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Only entries submitted electronically through the Contest webpage in accordance with these Official Rules will be eligible for consideration. No alternate means of entry permitted. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

Any attempt by any Entrant to obtain more than the permitted number of entries by using multiple and/or different identities, forms, registrations, addresses or any other method will void all of that Entrant’s entries and that Entrant may be disqualified at Sponsor’s discretion. Multiple Entrants are not permitted to share the same email address. Normal Internet, phone and usage charges imposed by your online or phone service may apply. Incomplete, illegible, corrupted, or untimely entries are void and will be disqualified. Sponsor and its affiliates are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, stolen, misdirected, or illegible entries; lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, or other connections; or miscommunications, computer or software malfunctions, telephone transmission problems, technical failures, garbled transmissions, damage to a user’s computer equipment (software or hardware), or other errors or malfunctions of any kind, whether human, mechanical, electronic or otherwise. Proof of sending or submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an Entrant, the authorized account holder of the email address used to enter will be deemed to be the Entrant or participant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, Internet service provider, or other organization (which may include an employer) responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. Potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. Entries specifying an invalid, non-working, or inactive email address will be disqualified and ineligible to win. Only entries submitted in accordance with these Official Rules will be eligible for consideration. No alternate means of entry permitted. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

Entrants who answer 90% or more of the Contest questions correctly shall be eligible for a random drawing. Entries with less than 90% correct answers will not be eligible for the drawing or prize. Odds of selection in the random drawing depend upon the number of eligible entries received. A purchase does not improve chances of winning.

The potential Prize Winners will be notified by e-mail within 14 days of the winner selection date. Winning a Prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Except where legally prohibited, each potential Prize winner will be required to complete and return, within fourteen (14) days of being notified, a Declaration of Eligibility, Liability & Publicity Release (“Declaration”) together with any ancillary forms, certifications, or documentation required under applicable U.S. law as a condition of receiving the prize. If a potential Prize Winner does not acknowledge acceptance of the Prize within 14 business days after being notified that he or she is a potential Prize Winner, or if a potential Prize Winner does not return the Declaration, any such related forms or documentation, or any other signed claim forms within the required time, or is otherwise found to be ineligible or not in full compliance with these Official Rules, another Prize Winner will be chosen using the same procedure specified above. Prize Winner may waive the right to receive the prize. The decisions of Sponsor are final and binding in all respects.

All potential Prize Winners are subject to verification by Sponsor before being confirmed as Prize Winners. If Sponsor, after reasonable efforts, is unable to identify and verify a potential winner, or if Sponsor receives fewer eligible entries than the number of prizes available, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, not to award all prizes. Sponsor is not responsible for changes to any Entrant’s email or mailing address, lost or damaged mail, or mail returned as undeliverable.

ALL POTENTIAL PRIZE WINNERS ARE SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION BY SPONSOR, WHOSE DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE CONTEST. AN ENTRANT IS NOT A WINNER OF ANY PRIZE UNLESS AND UNTIL ENTRANT’S ELIGIBILITY HAS BEEN VERIFIED AND ENTRANT HAS BEEN NOTIFIED THAT VERIFICATION IS COMPLETE.

The prizes for the Contest are being sponsored by IEEE. One (1) winner will receive 1st Prize – one (1) Apple iPad – 256GB (approximate retail value (ARV): 61,900 Indian Rupees and Four (4) Winners will receive 2nd Prize – one (1) Apple iPad, 128GB (approximate retail value (ARV): 49,900 Indian Rupees.

Apple Inc., Apple, iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Mini are trademarks, service marks, or registered trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the United States and other countries and regions, and all such marks are and shall remain the sole and exclusive property of Apple Inc. All rights in and to such marks are expressly reserved by Apple Inc. The use of, or reference to, Apple Inc. or any Apple Inc. product name, trademark, service mark, trade name, logo, or other proprietary designation in these Official Rules or in any Contest-related materials is solely for the limited purpose of identifying the applicable prize and shall not be construed as, and does not constitute or imply, any sponsorship, endorsement, authorization, approval, affiliation, association, agency, partnership, joint venture, representation, warranty, support, promotion, administration, fulfillment, or other involvement by or with Apple Inc. Apple Inc. is not a sponsor, co-sponsor, administrator, prize provider, supplier, manufacturer for purposes of this Contest, endorser, promoter, agent, representative, affiliate, or partner of Sponsor or of the Contest, and Apple Inc. has not authorized, approved, endorsed, sponsored, administered, promoted, fulfilled, supplied, warranted, or otherwise participated in or assumed any responsibility for the Contest, the selection or notification of winners, the award, delivery, condition, use, misuse, warranty, support, servicing, or fulfillment of any prize, or any advertising, marketing, promotional, or other materials or activities associated with the Contest.

No cash equivalent, redemption, assignment, transfer, substitution, or exchange of any prize, in whole or in part, shall be permitted, except in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Sponsor reserves the right, without notice or liability, to substitute any prize or prize component with a prize or component of equal or greater value if the advertised prize or any component thereof becomes unavailable, impracticable, or otherwise cannot be awarded for any reason. Sponsor makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee, express or implied, regarding any prize, including without limitation any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, condition, quality, title, or non-infringement, and Sponsor shall have no responsibility or liability for any manufacturer’s warranty, service obligation, technical support, maintenance, repair, defect, damage, loss, or other matter relating to any prize. No prize may be transferred, assigned, or conveyed prior to award. All costs, expenses, taxes, duties, fees, assessments, and charges of any kind arising out of or relating to the acceptance, receipt, possession, use, misuse, transfer, registration, maintenance, or ownership of any prize, including without limitation any applicable federal, state, local, foreign, or other taxes, are the sole responsibility of the winner.

By receipt of the Prize and by signing the Declaration, the Prize Winner consents to the use of his or her name, organization name and address by Sponsor for advertising and promotional purposes, including but not limited to on Sponsor’s social media pages, without any additional compensation, except where prohibited. No entries will be returned. All entries become the property of Sponsor. The Prize Winner agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its officers, directors, employees, affiliated companies, agents, successors and assigns from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest.

By entering the Contest, Entrant grants Sponsor a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide right and license to reproduce, publish, display, edit, and otherwise use the submitted entry, and Entrant’s full name and city and state/province/country of residence, photograph, likeness, voice, and institutional affiliation, in print or any offline, online, or other media for purposes of editorials, exhibition, advertising, publicity, and promotion of the Contest and Sponsor’s publications and products, without additional compensation or permission, unless prohibited by law.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, EVERYTHING REGARDING THIS CONTEST, INCLUDING EACH WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CONTEST AND ALL PRIZES, ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY. CHECK LOCAL LAWS FOR ANY RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS REGARDING THESE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS.

By submitting an entry, Entrant represent and warrant that the entry does not and shall not comprise, contain, or describe, as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion: (A) false statements or any misrepresentations of your affiliation with a person or entity; (B) personally identifying information about you or any other person; (C) statements or other content that is false, deceptive, misleading, scandalous, indecent, obscene, unlawful, defamatory, libelous, fraudulent, tortious, threatening, harassing, hateful, degrading, intimidating, or racially or ethnically offensive; (D) conduct that could be considered a criminal offense, could give rise to criminal or civil liability, or could violate any law; (E) any advertising, promotion or other solicitation, or any third party brand name or trademark; or (F) any virus, worm, Trojan horse, or other harmful code or component. By submitting an entry, Entrant represents and warrants that they own the full rights to the entry and have obtained any and all necessary consents, permissions, approvals and licenses to submit the entry and comply with all of these Official Rules, and that the submitted entry is their sole original work, has not been previously published, released or distributed, and does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any laws or regulations.

WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CONTEST OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW, AND, SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PROSECUTE AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Neither Sponsor, its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies, nor its advertising or promotional agencies shall have any obligation, liability or responsibility with regard to (i) entries that contain incorrect or inaccurate information or do not comply with these Official Rules, (ii) entries, prize claims or notifications that are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, damaged or otherwise not received by the intended recipient, in whole or in part, due to computer, technical or other error of any kind, (iii) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties of any kind, (iv) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Sponsor that may cause the Contest to be disrupted or delayed, (v) any printing or typographical errors in these Official Rules or any other materials associated with the Contest, or (vi) any damages or losses of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from participation in the Contest, accessing, uploading or downloading data in connection with the Contest, or acceptance, possession or use of any prize. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant tampering with or abusing the entry process or the operation of the Contest or otherwise violating these Official Rules. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, further reserves the right to cancel, terminate, suspend or modify the Contest if the Contest cannot be completed as planned because of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort and to select a winner from among eligible entries unaffected by such event, if any.

BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, ENTRANT AGREES THAT SPONSOR, ANY CONTEST ENTITIES AND THEIR RESPECTIVE PARENT COMPANIES, AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, REPRESENTATIVES, CONSULTANTS, CONTRACTORS, LEGAL COUNSEL, ADVERTISING, PUBLIC RELATIONS, PROMOTIONAL, FULFILLMENT AND MARKETING, WEBSITE PROVIDERS, WEB MASTERS, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, AND AGENTS (THE “RELEASED PARTIES”) WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY PARTICIPANTS AGAINST, ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND TO PERSONS, INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH, OR PROPERTY RESULTING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE, OR USE OF THE PRIZE, ENTRY, OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST OR IN ANY CONTEST-RELATED ACTIVITY, OR ANY CLAIMS BASED ON PUBLICITY RIGHTS, DEFAMATION OR INVASION OF PRIVACY, OR MERCHANDISE DELIVERY. THE RELEASED PARTIES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS CONTEST CANNOT BE ADMINISTERED OR CONDUCTED OR ANY PRIZE CANNOT BE AWARDED DUE TO CANCELLATIONS, DELAYS, OR INTERRUPTIONS RESULTING OR ARISING FROM ACTS OF GOD, WAR, OR TERRORISM, CIVIL UNREST, STRIKES, SUPPLY SHORTAGES, NATURAL DISASTERS, WEATHER, EPIDEMICS, COMPLIANCE WITH ANY LAW OR ORDER OF A GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITY, OR ANY OTHER SIMILAR ACT, EVENT, OR OCCURANCE BEYOND THE REASONABLE CONTROL OF THE SPONSOR.

EACH ENTRANT AGREES THAT: (1) ANY AND ALL DISPUTES, CLAIMS, AND CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS CONTEST, OR ANY PRIZES AWARDED, SHALL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY, WITHOUT RESORTING TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION, PURSUANT TO ARBITRATION CONDUCTED UNDER THE COMMERCIAL ARBITRATION RULES OF THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION THEN IN EFFECT AND CURRENTLY AVAILABLE AT https://adr.org/sites/default/files/Commercial%20Rules.pdf, (2) ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS AND AWARDS SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS INCURRED, INCLUDING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ENTERING THIS CONTEST, BUT IN NO EVENT ATTORNEYS’ FEES; AND (3) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ANY ENTRANT BE PERMITTED TO OBTAIN AWARDS FOR, AND ENTRANT HEREBY WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO CLAIM, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, AND ANY OTHER DAMAGES, OTHER THAN FOR ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES, AND ANY AND ALL RIGHTS TO HAVE DAMAGES MULTIPLIED OR OTHERWISE INCREASED. ALL ISSUES AND QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE CONSTRUCTION, VALIDITY, INTERPRETATION AND ENFORCEABILITY OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES, OR THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF ENTRANT AND SPONSOR IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONTEST, SHALL BE GOVERNED BY, AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH, THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY, WITHOUT GIVING EFFECT TO ANY CHOICE OF LAW OR CONFLICT OF LAW, RULES OR PROVISIONS (WHETHER OF THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY OR ANY OTHER JURISDICTION) THAT WOULD CAUSE THE APPLICATION OF THE LAWS OF ANY JURISDICTION OTHER THAN THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY. SPONSOR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY TYPOGRAPHICAL OR OTHER ERROR IN THE PRINTING OF THE OFFER OR ADMINISTRATION OF THE CONTEST OR IN THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE PRIZES.

Entrant acknowledges and agrees that Sponsor may collect, store, share, and otherwise use personally identifiable information provided during the registration and application process and the Contest, including, but not limited to, name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. Sponsor will use this information with accordance with its Privacy Policy (https://www.ieee.org/security_privacy.html), including for administering the Contest and verifying Entrant’s identity, postal address, and telephone number in the event an entry qualifies for a prize. Entrant’s information may also be transferred to countries outside the country of Entrant’s residence, including the United States. Such other countries may not have privacy laws and regulations similar to those of the country of Entrant’s residence. If an Entrant does not provide the mandatory data required at registration, Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify the entry.

If any term or provision of these Official Rules is found under the law to be invalid or unenforceable, then such specific term or provision shall be of no force and effect and shall be severed, and the remainder of these Official Rules shall continue in full force and effect.
